The Prince of Darkness may have taken his final bow, but his thunderous legacy is far from fading into silence. Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath are bringing one of heavy metal’s most historic nights back to fans, with the release of their monumental Back to the Beginning concert film on Blu-ray and vinyl on December 11, 2026.
Released through Mercury Studios, the film immortalises Ozzy’s final live performance, alongside the original Black Sabbath lineup featuring Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward. The historic farewell took place at Birmingham’s Villa Park in 2025, transforming the band’s hometown into the epicentre of a spectacular metal celebration.
And this was no ordinary send-off. The star-studded event featured performances from Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Tool, Pantera, Gojira, Alice in Chains and Anthrax, alongside an all-star collective led by Tom Morello.
Fans can get their hands on Blu-ray and CD editions, as well as exclusive coloured 2LP vinyl variants, with audio mastered for Dolby Atmos and surround sound. For hardcore collectors, an extravagant Deluxe Box Set is also scheduled for April 23, 2027, featuring 35 songs, a 72-page hardback book, memorabilia and more.
Adding another emotional punch, Ozzy’s final performance of ‘Mr. Crowley’ has been released as an instant preview. This concert film is a thunderous tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, the man who helped birth heavy metal. The legend may be gone, but the riffs will never die.
