Over the weekend, Olivia Rodrigo made waves in the Philippines as she kicked off her Guts tour with an unforgettable performance at the Philippine Arena in Manila. This wasn’t just any concert—it marked the first time the half-Filipino singer graced her homeland with her presence, and the audience of over 50,000 fans made it one for the books!
“Been dreaming of this show for a whileeeee,” Rodrigo shared on Instagram, buzzing with excitement. “My first time in the Philippines and also my biggest venue ever!!!!! Thank you to everyone [in] Manila for welcoming me so generously and making me feel so loved.” Decked out in a custom sash reading “Miss So Filipina,” Rodrigo radiated joy as she addressed the crowd: “I’m so, so happy to be here tonight, I cannot even tell you. You guys are the most gorgeous crowd ever.”
Not only did she bring her infectious energy, but she also made a nod to her heritage with a tank top emblazoned with “Pinoy Pride.” During a heartfelt moment while performing “Logical,” she even gave a shout-out to the daughter of famous Filipino stars Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes. The young girl’s reaction? Pure delight as she exclaimed, “Mama, she said hi to me!”

Olivia Rodrigo’s commitment to making a difference was just as impressive. Keeping ticket prices capped at $30, she ensured accessibility for fans while also supporting a good cause. All net proceeds went to Jhpiego, a non-profit dedicated to providing healthcare to women and girls. “I got to visit the organization while I was in Manila and was so impressed by the work they are doing,” she noted. “It was the most special show and the most meaningful trip. To say I’m grateful doesn’t even cut it! Mahal kita ❤️.”
Reflecting on her roots, Rodrigo once shared, “Filipino people ride for other Filipino people.” With this monumental concert, it’s clear that the love is mutual.
