The guitar player, best known for his work with the legendary thrash-metal band Megadeth, will perform in Mumbai, New Delhi, and Bengaluru.
Marty Friedman has announced a return to India in January 2026 for a three-city tour.
The tour is going to start on January 16 at Phoenix Palladium in Mumbai, followed by a show on January 17 at The Piano Man, Eldeco Centre in New Delhi, and a final show on January 18 at the Kantha Festival during BLR Hubba in Bengaluru. Tickets for the Mumbai and Delhi performances are already available, while registration for the Bengaluru show is expected to open very soon.
Friedman’s last visit to India was in 2019, when he made his debut at the NH7 Weekender Festival in Meghalaya. Since then, he has made sure to maintain a strong bond with Indian musicians, notably collaborating with New Delhi-based rock band Antariksh and other local artists on various projects, including Skyharbor on their song Catharsis in 2012, and also by inviting the members of Skyharbor, guitarist-producer Keshav Dhar and drummer Anup Sastry, to play on his own song Steroidhead in 2014.
A little bit about Marty Friedman
A renowned figure as a legendary guitar player in the world of heavy metal, Friedman first rose to fame in the 1980s with the band Cacophony, which he co-founded with fellow guitarist Jason Becker. His global fame grew when he joined Megadeth in 1990, thus contributing to landmark albums and delivering unforgettable solos on tracks like Tornado of Souls and A Tout le Monde.
After leaving Megadeth in 2000, Friedman pursued a solo career, which has been quite successful, and also became deeply involved in the Japanese music scene. His most recent studio album, Drama, released in 2024, clearly shows his artistic blend of technical dexterity and melodic storytelling.
The upcoming India tour of Marty Friedman promises an evening of high-voltage performances, face-melting guitar work, and the unmistakable energy that has defined his career. For Indian fans of instrumental rock and heavy metal, this is an unmissable opportunity to witness one of the greatest living guitarists perform live.
