Linkin Park Teases new Bootleg Track : Friendly Fire – Releasing Today!

In a 30 sec snippet., nu-metal pioneeers Linking Park uploaded a previously unheard track. The song titled, ‘Friendly Fire’, is an unreleased number off their 7th LP ‘One More Light’. The band released their last full-length album in 2017, after which the world was put to shock by Chester’s sudden death.

This anticipated song is already a wildfire in the music community in under 72 hours. Fans are excited beyond their belief that they would get to hear Chester Bennington once again voicing a new song! The comments on all the Social Media platforms are heart-warming to see fans all over the world pouring their love in remembrance of Chester. Although the Band went underground since Chester’s death, the world of music awaits a comeback in hope that there might be more such surprises left in the band’s bootleg shelf.

Who cares if one more light goes out?

We do. ‘One More Light’ has been distinctly different from their earlier, heavier works. For the first time, Kiiara, a female vocalist, sang on a Linkin Park original to much criticism from their older fans for going ‘mellow’ on this album.

With Friendly Fire set to drop tomorrow, these few lines from the song feels like it’s perhaps drawing a parallel to current geo-political relations in the Middle-east.

Can’t put back what’s been broken
Can’t change the moment
We went too far We’re pulling apart for no reason
We’re pulling a trigger in a useless war
And if we come back and go into the black
What are we fighting for?
What are we fighting—
It’s just friendly fire, fire, fire, fire
