Gavin Harrison Reveals new Porcupine Tree Record in the Making
Speaking to The Prog Report, the drummer of the British progressive rock outfit revealed that there’s new material brewing at camp PT.
Only two days back, Porcupine Tree frontman Steven Wilson announced a new album for his solo project. The title track ‘Requiem for a Village’ is now available for streaming. And now, we get even bigger news from his longtime bandmate and renowned drummer Gavin Harrison.
The band is already on the move. A new record is incoming. And this could mean the revival of a fanbase that once had given up on the thought of getting any new music after the band disbanded in 2010. Hope was restored after the recent tour announcement as the band came back together to play again, with the exception of bassist, Colin Edwin.
Subsequently, Porcupine Tree released new material in the form of Closure/Continuation and received mixed reviews from fans. An extensive tour and towering ticket sales later, the band now finds itself inside the studio again. Working on what could probably be another full-length record.
We haven’t given up on Porcupine Tree. We had started recording another record. So, we’re gonna get together next year and maybe try and finish that.
Additionally, he also stated that he was unsure about the band’s plans on playing live again. “I dont know if we’ll play live or not,” Gavin explained.
