All eyes are on Paris as it prepares to host the world’s greatest sporting event. On July 26, athletes from around the globe will gather for the 2024 Paris Olympics. In the lead-up to this event, several prominent figures have been selected to carry the Olympic spirit as torchbearers. Among them, it was revealed on July 2, that Jin, a member of BTS, will participate as South Korea’s torchbearer. His involvement in the Olympic torch relay is intended to spread messages of “harmony” and “peace,” according to an official statement, Teen Vogue reports.
What Has Jin Been Upto Till Now?
The Olympic torch relay, a symbolic tradition representing unity and sporting spirit, takes place before each edition of the Games. Starting in Olympia, Greece, the Olympic flame travels through various countries before arriving at the host city, a practice that began with the 1936 Berlin Summer Olympics. Jin recently completed his mandatory military service and marked this important occasion by reuniting with his BTS bandmates. They were all granted leave to celebrate this milestone together.

When ARMYs learned that the oldest BTS member, Jin, would represent South Korea as the torchbearer, they were overjoyed and widely expressed their excitement. Responding to the post on Instagram, one fan wrote, “Yeahhh 🔥🔥🔥 lets gooo Jinnn.” Another fan enthusiastically commented, “The best the best!!!!” A third fan exclaimed, “OLYMPICS TORCHBEARER JIN PRIDE OF KOREA JIN JIN AT PARIS OLYMPICS.” Another fan commented, “This is nice more Kpop stars during the olympics cause jungkook performed in Qatar I literally wonder if seventeen bss will go their since their songs got chosen.”
Earlier this year, it was announced that Snoop Dogg will join NBC’s lineup to cover the Games, providing “regular reports” for the Olympic Primetime Show, according to Billboard.
