Interview with Judgements
1. What was your inspiration behind creating the intrinsically unique track “Judgements”?
Judgements is actually our band and not the track name. If you were, however, referring to our track ‘Sever the Ties,’ then it is from a personal experience. We all have that friend who’s unstable. This song is all about him.
2. What would you tell someone who’s stepping into your musical world for the first time?

3. How has your musical journey been so far? Has it been a smooth sail or one filled with challenges?
It’s a fine blend to be honest. We’ve had our fair share of ups and a few more downs. Some days you’ve hit a roadblock. Then an open highway.
Defining a one true identity can be difficult for musicians, especially in today’s day and age, because it’s easy to get lost in the sea of content. But the silver lining is – we know there are people who could relate to our music and that’s what keeps us going. We do it for them!
4. What inspires you the most as artists? Do you draw inspiration from spontaneous life events? Or are your creations methodically planned out?
The fact that we are able to dream without boundaries and share it with the rest of the world through our music, it’s an elation. While the groove heavy riffs take little to no time to produce, the heart-warming ones are the hardest… simply because a lot of emotions are at play. They are based off of real life scenarios and it takes time to write. For instance, we have a song on the album dedicated to the ones we have loved and lost. It’s been in writing for over 10 years. Imagine taking that pain and turning it into something beautiful. That’s the real inspiration!
5. Tell us a little about your motto as an artist. Do you believe in art for art’s sake? Or is yours more like a spontaneous outlet of emotions?
Our motto is “Dream little dreamer, the world is yours!” As an artist, I know (any form of) art helps me believe in a better world. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t my love for it. So, every time we plan the music, the art and the associated emotions fall in place seamlessly. Having said that, our bassist has his spontaneity come in spurts while the rest of us don’t have that privilege! 🙂
6. “Sever the Ties” sounds both mystical and uplifting, how would you describe the song’s concept?
Well, 48 revisions and four producers later, we can say that it’s a self-explanatory term now (laughs). Either that, or the fact that it is one’s battle and victory with instability. It is a painful process to witness, but we had to literally sever the ties with that person. This song is a reminder.
