Adrian Rose defies easy categorization from his Lancaster, PA home base. His 2023 “LLOYD” EP marked a turning point – introducing his deep, rumbling vocals to complement the soulful, funk-infused beats he’s mastered. When he’s not crafting hits for other artists, he’s pushing boundaries in DYSFONK, his collaboration with Texas artist JDP. Rose isn’t just making beats – he’s reinventing funk for a new era, building a unique sound that’s equally at home backing other artists or driving his own projects. Each track shows why he’s becoming one of PA’s most versatile producers.
Adrian Rose has released a new album, “ALL CAPS,” with 13 songs. “Where We Came From” opens this album perfectly with a welcome blend of styles. The rap delivery flows naturally over rich R&B beats, while the saxophone work adds layers of sophistication throughout. It’s a confident opener that sets high expectations for what’s to come, showing Adrian’s ability to merge different musical elements into something cohesive and engaging.
“Rat Race” takes things in an interesting direction, letting Adrian show off a sassier, more playful side of their artistry. The horn arrangements are a real highlight here, bringing a strong jazz influence that elevates the whole track. When these horn sections meet the clever guitar riffs and Adrian’s self-assured vocals, it creates something that feels both fresh and familiar. The production maintains clarity while letting each element breathe.

“Mamatica” by Adrian Rose shines as a standout collaboration with JDP, bringing together bright trumpet lines and sharp, well-defined beats. The interplay between their voices adds an extra layer of enjoyment, and there’s this light, playful energy throughout that’s just infectious. It’s the kind of track that naturally puts a smile on your face.
“Waterfall” featuring Raldi delivers this perfect blend of jazz and R&B that creates a really floaty, almost hypnotic vibe. The production work here is particularly clever – those atmospheric synths in the background create these echo effects that give the track real depth. What makes this track special is how it switches between the slow rap sections and melodic singing. There’s this natural flow between the two styles that keeps things interesting, and both Adrian Rose and Raldi bring this understated sassiness to their delivery that adds character. The track has this way of being both laid-back and engaging at the same time – it’s chill enough to vibe to but has enough subtle complexity to reward close listening.

“The Rain” shows Adrian’s more introspective side, shifting gears into something more atmospheric. The electronic soundscapes create this moody backdrop that lets his soulful vocals really take center stage. His emotional delivery here hits differently – it’s the sort of song that makes you want to close your eyes and sway along while letting the music wash over you. The production creates this immersive space where Adrian’s voice can really explore the emotional depths of the track.
“Find Your Way” stands out as a compelling duet with Naiby Perez, where her commanding vocals steal the scene right from the start. Her voice has this sultry quality that perfectly matches the old-school bar atmosphere created by the backing instrumentals. When Adrian’s vocals join in, the song reaches a new level – their voices complement each other in a way that feels natural and complete. The track has this timeless quality to it, like something you’d hear in a dimly lit jazz club, but with a modern twist.

Q. Hi Adrian Rose! Welcome to Sinusoidal, and congratulations on the release of your new album. ALL CAPS is quite an attention-grabbing title. Does it symbolize a mindset, a statement, or something deeper about the essence of the album?
A: The title definitely symbolizes my versatility as a creative. I wear all the hats, I sing, I rap, I produce, I mix/master, I play instruments, I do graphic design, etc. It’s also loosely inspired by MF DOOM in the sense that we don’t follow rules or typical song structures/formulas.
Q. “Where We Came From” has a sense of celebration and pride. Was this always intended to set the tone for the journey ahead, or did it naturally evolve during the creative process?
A: Where We Came From was one of the first songs I made for the project and was the result of experimenting with my voice and stringed instruments such as guitar and bass. Originally there was no intention behind it but it did set the tone for how I wanted the album to sound sonically.
Q. The collaboration with Naiby Perez on “Find Your Way” creates pure magic. How did this partnership develop, and what drew you to her distinctive vocal style?
A: This song happened organically. I actually posted a very sped up version of the instrumental while I was tracking bass for it and she called dibs. I sent her the actual version and she wrote a masterpiece. I’ve been a fan of Naiby’s soulful voice for years so it was a no brainer to collaborate on this song. It was actually the first duet I’ve ever done as an artist.
Q. Your ability to seamlessly transition from irresistible grooves to soulful ballads throughout the album is remarkable. How do you ensure such diverse sounds stay cohesive within one album?
A: I like to think I have a distinctive sound as a producer so the songs stay in the same house, just different rooms. One of my goals was to make an album that doesn’t sound like the same song on repeat so a lot of the cohesiveness relies on the track listing itself.
Q. It feels like every collaboration on the album was meticulously chosen. How do you select your collaborators, and what unique elements do they bring to your music?
A: I have a lot of talented friends and wanted to showcase their gifts as best as I could. Even with a lot of the songs coming together organically, I have to be able to hear the artist on the song before I even reach out to collaborate. They definitely have their own unique voices and songwriting skills so each artist brought a piece of themselves to the songs they featured on.
Q. Is there a central theme or message that ties All Caps together? What do you hope listeners will take away from the album?
A: There’s plenty of concepts within each song but the overall theme was to highlight my growth as an artist and musician. I hope the listeners feel connected to the musical journey and feel inspired to break away from the trends and be themselves.
Q. Was there a specific track on the album that pushed you out of your comfort zone or challenged you creatively?
A: Each song was the result of experimentation so they all pushed me out of my comfort zone. LADY was definitely the most challenging. I think I rerecorded the softer singing every day for a whole month.
Q. What’s next for Adrian Rose? Can we expect another album, more exciting collaborations, or perhaps even a move into mentoring upcoming artists?
A: I probably won’t announce anything until it’s ready to present to the world, but there will be more music eventually. I’m a student of the arts myself so I don’t have any intentions on mentoring anyone but I do catch myself giving advice/notes to every artist/musician I work with to encourage their own musical evolution.
