The Trusted is a London-based Brit-rock band that formed in 2016. However, founding members, guitarist, Dale, and lead singer, Tom, formed their musical bond in school. The two then met their bassist, Fin, and drummer, Dave. The Trusted was then formed. Having cited influences such as Catfish & The Bottlemen, The 1975, The Clash, and Elvis Costello, the four-piece band has clearly used similar elements to create their sound.
Vellichor has a brilliant new wave fused with rock going for it. The guitar riffs are hard and chunky, the bass line is like a hot knife cutting through warm butter – ultra-smooth. The drums are hypnotic and keep you tuned in. The dynamics of the entire track will take you through a rollercoaster of a journey. The dreamy nature of the delayed guitar makes you nostalgic for some good old New Wave like Hall & Oates.
I absolutely love the sound created by The Trusted. It feels very old school Brit-rock with the freshness of the New Wave vibe. It almost feels like a track that deserves a show for a superhero. Vellichor is a fitting name for the track considering it means the strange wistfulness of used bookstores. I am definitely jumping on The Trusted’s bandwagon – I suggest you do too!
