Hailing from Bristol, UK, Kyle and the Juggernaut is a six-piece band born from drummer and vocalist Ieuan Pearse’s home studio project. With a lineup featuring Ben Shillabeer and Cian Rance on guitars, Emily Pearse on bass, Lissie Foulds on lead vocals, and Robin Hodge on keys, the band crafts a cool alternative and indie rock sound. Their latest release, “The Passenger Seat,” is a great track that showcases their style and songwriting.

The song opens with a guitar riff as the bassline seeps in and the dual vocals layer on top. Then the rhythm section kicks in, igniting the track with driving drums and rhythm guitars that feel like a storm. Kyle and the Juggernaut excels in creating groovy dynamic shifts, and this song feels like a journey, gradually ascending to its powerful peak worth of choruses.
The song is really innovative in its structure. The chorus one could say is a rock chord progression section while the lyrical melodies all are unique in their melodies with no real repetition. The outros are practically outro chorus/bridges. Really cool!
The lyrics are about battling your inner demons and the pain that comes with it. They also touch on longing for connection, feeling vulnerable, and dealing with the messy emotions of relationships. The music would remind you of a bit of Kings of Leon, Arcade Fire, and Coldplay.
Kyle and the Juggernaut moulds a song that’s reflective and cathartic, while being full of rock energy. If you haven’t listened yet, delay no further and spin this rocker of a track!
