SCREENTALK-Escape

Three tracks released till now. Straight fire. A very few number of artists or bands can boast this, and they own global merch now because of how big they got. SCREENTALK is a young group that is the physical manifestation of Gorillaz and a lot happier Radiohead. Their new single Escape is now in the airwaves for us to listen to.

Escape takes the pop/funk route of letting the bass line dominate, and the other instruments catch up. The vocals are an instrument in itself, the register and play within the frequency is what makes it special. Patrick Stump had this kind of unique voice that made Fall Out Boy so special. I feel the same applies here. The soft synths and electronica smear on the track also allow the spotlight time and again to be on the vocals, brilliantly executed.

It has a fantastic build into a period piece of sound, churning from your favorite sci-fi movies to properties of Kraftwerk in some places. If you dig this track like I do, you must check out their other two singles Amplified and Mountain Soda. Each uses a different essence of the group, and while its a sound you’ve heard before, it hasn’t been executed like this.
