Inspired by artists such as Justin Timberlake and the Backstreet Boys, Haiden’s latest release, “Okay ok k”, is an exciting synth-filled pop track that discusses the ineffective communication in relationships. In a sound reminiscent of 90s music, he and producer Barry Fowler have created a contemporary boy-band sound that is sure to get you on your feet!
The track begins with a harsh, distorted synth line and hard-hitting beats. Haiden’s vocals stand out initially over a simple beat and guitar loop, and carry a hint of nostalgia. The light-hearted lyrics fit quite well with his playful singing style.- “Do you come with training wheels? Does someone tell me how you feel, when you haven’t looked up all day? Did I lose the start up guide?”. It looks like Haiden’s expressing his frustration in his lyrics, and I must say he has done a commendable job!
As the track progresses, the beats get more exciting and with rich harmonies, the track becomes more vibrant. “Okay ok k”, also features a engaging bridge section with a bunch of filler synth melodies and powerful vocals. The catchy chorus is sure to get you hooked, and to me, it sounds very Justin Bieber-inspired!
The song explores the seemingly endless communication gaps in relationships that can become very annoying. Haiden is a fantastic songwriter who gets his point across easily, through his natural vocal delivery and relatable lyrics. Known best for his hyper-pop singles, “Unless” and “Welcome Home”, the California-based artist has been releasing music since early 2021, and has already gained a decent following.
