Emmy Law – Black and White | Deviation

Nashville-based artist Emmy Law takes you on a heartwarming journey with her newest single “Black and White”. She spent some time in the Atlanta music scene as a live performer and a teacher, slowly progressing to working on her original music in a studio, and has come a long way since. Her latest track with catchy melodies and relatable lyrics is filled with emotion, fusing both electronic and acoustic sounds in her own signature style.

The track begins with soothing atmospheres over which a melodic acoustic guitar is overlaid. In a lush, melancholic soundscape, Emmy’s soothing vocals take centre stage, and the tone of her voice blends in seamlessly with the instrumentation. “Black and White” explores the contrast between two people; however compatible or close they seem, sometimes there is an air of uncertainty that hinders things from happening, and for the right reasons.

“You tell what you want to be, would you go along with me hoping for it, and I wait and I wait and say – you and me should get away, cause you and me are black and white”. Emmy’s voice carries these honest lyrics that are straight from the heart, and I think that’s what makes her music so beautiful. As the track progresses, there’s a lot of energy towards the end, and the instrumental sections are marvellously executed. With a masterful mix and a top-notch production, she hits all the right notes with her songwriting and singing style.

Emmy Law has released a bunch of singles since 2018 and has a great fan following as well. Her heartfelt music appeals to a wide audience and her experience all these years has transformed her into an all-around artist. As the newest ‘EmLaw’ in her continuously growing fanbase, I’m already eager to hear more wonderful music from her soon!
