Hailing from Chicago, Illinois, Ozzient brings soulful melodies, and great production to the table with his music– most recently with his single, “The One”– keep reading for my thoughts!
Enlisting a talented roster in LandoIsLiving and Kieran among others to bring the vision of the track to life, Ozzient starts strong with the beautiful melody that makes itself known in the opening parts of the track, with the keys and the pads setting quite the solid atmosphere quite nicely, quite early on. The percussion is an added highlight until the vocals come by to keep us company; and when they do kick in, the melodic aspect of “The One” really shines through.
With its heavy melodic focus in the verses and the hooks, it doesn’t take much for one to slowly start humming the melodies along. As melodies become proper verses, we’re taken deep into LandoIsLiving and Kieran’s lyricism that speak messages of hope and positivity, overcoming challenges and towering tall over the competition. This is all delivered with the flair worthy of good hip-hop and is executed well.

Another standout aspect of “The One” is the production– with great sound design that captures the mood and the attention of the listener quite well throughout the song, there is much to appreciate about the smart use of the stereo field that keeps things moving and grooving throughout the track. The drums sit nice and tight within the mix and propel focus to the front and towards the vocals, perfect for a hip-hop track like this one. This is also wrapped up quite nicely by a great master that brings a great balance and highlights the elements of the mix quite eloquently.
All in all, “The One”, by Ozzient: This track is a pleasure to listen to! Ozzient pushes the boundary in his own ways, and this is the start of many more tracks to come– check out the track here!
