Lotus bring a prog rock experience to behold with “Share a Piece”

Lotus are back, and they’re blooming. The Pune based prog rock outfit cannot be defined by many boxes, but the dissolving of them all. Blending a wide range of genres, they are able to encapsulate a whole layer of energy that pulsates with hope and extraordinary compositional vision. This is their latest single after a 3-year break from releasing music. This is called Share a Piece.

The percussional strength opens the song. You hear a swelling emphasis on how the song builds, almost instantaneously, like raging hot lava. The chugging guitars come in after, accenting the elements of the drums. When the verse hits you, you’re placed in a sort of vacuum, which devolves back into the powerful chorus. The breakaway from chorus back to the rich, atmospheric instrumentals and verse section is something to behold.

Lotus are harnessing their unique perspective

The band has managed to understand how they put across harmonics, clean vocals & growls to a balanced, fruitful composition. It is a rising of sorts that delves into several important elements and comes together to make something special. Lotus have a powerful return after solidifying their sound, while still having the frequency to try out new sounds.

The way the swells are constructed makes this song a memorable listen. Share a Piece is more than just a track that ends at pause and play, it creates a structure that you think about for far longer. It is a sound that keeps on growing-keeps you tapped in for how it explodes into fractions and ties it all together. Make sure you listen to Dear Diary, Vision & Don’t Feel a Thing as well. Before you know it, Lotus will be back with more:
