There has been no meteoric rise in the indie metal community like Fallen Letters. The subversive project of Vishal Naidu and Aditya Ramesh has been making immense waves, from metal playlists to rock collections globally. They have already reached 100k streams in Spotify, which is quite a commendable task for a band that is only a year old. They forge and break new shackles with their latest single, Beneath the Opaque Veil.
If you’re a fan of their previous singles like Our Own Demise and For a While, forget all preconceived ideas. Fallen Letters unassumingly flash their ace of spades, the slight grin on the protagonist’s face before the demolishing hand. If the soft opening lures you in, it is to ensnare you in the thunderous riff that might be one of the best I’ve heard all year. Aditya Ramesh keeps the fibres alive with this guitar gobstopper, while the treat recedes into the background. The track features Mukund Narasimhan on drums, absolutely obliterating the section with innovative chops and pockets. Vishal Naidu entrances you with the lyrics and vocals, making sure you’re aware something is afoot. The band explores their instrumental range with this song, and instantly catapults themselves into the indie elite. Call it a performance or a revelation, this is metal that entices you to the dark side.
The track has a legacy connect as well, mixed and mastered in Fascination Street Studios, Sweden by Johan Martin and Tony Lindgren respectively. The track is produced by Vishal Naidu under the independent label, AlterFate Records.

With the band performing at their peak, it is safe to say there is more than a stride. Not only does their song pay homage to their heroes, but shows the technical prowess and compositional cosmos they have yet to show you. Fallen Letters are giving you a glimpse of what lies behind the veil. Those who may dare, enter. Make sure you check them out on Instagram as well!

Self professed metalhead, moderately well read. If the music has soul, it's whole to me. The fact that my bio could have ended on a rhyme and doesn't should tell you a lot about my personality.
