K-Pop spearheads BlackPink have received honorary MBEs from King Charles III at Buckingham Palace. The four have been given the distinction for spreading awareness on climate change.

This news comes after the fact that two of the individuals have renewed their contract with Korean entertainment giant YG Entertainment. This gives the artists flexibility to sign individual deals under other labels as well. This means the members can go solo if they want, which is something they might bank on. In the music world, their album, THE ALBUM has spent 1000 days on the i-tunes chart, a first for a K-Pop act.

King Charles was also sure to give a shout-out to their song with BTS called Dynamite. This we’re sure, is exactly the King’s taste. This was during an event where the monarch welcomed South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeol to the UK, at this special banquet hosted by the Buckingham Palace. The group landed back in Korea yesterday, and news went round about how they were getting mobbed at the airport. K-Pop fever continues to be an overwhelming phenomenon.

We’re sure the group will go on to make amazing music and continue their electric dynamic on and off-stage. Listen to their song here:
