Hard Rock International has terminated its licensing deal with JSM Corporation, affecting ten Hard Rock Cafe locations across major Indian cities. The Hard Rock Hotel Goa remains unaffected and will continue operations.
India’s rock-and-burger institution may be turning the volume down. Hard Rock International has terminated its licensing agreements with JSM Corporation Pvt Ltd, effectively ending the operator’s right to run Hard Rock Cafe outlets and Rock Shops across the country.
The announcement, made on March 16, 2026, impacts ten Hard Rock Cafe locations across India.

Ten cafes hit by the decision
The affected outlets span several major cities, including Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, New Delhi, and Pune.
The Bengaluru region alone accounts for multiple closures, including the airport outlet and the one in Whitefield.
For years, these Hard Rock Cafe venues doubled as live music hubs alongside their signature burgers, cocktails, and memorabilia-lined walls.

Goa Stays Unaffected
Not all Hard Rock properties in India are caught in the shake-up. The Hard Rock Hotel Goa will continue operating as usual.
According to Hard Rock International, the Goa property is run by a separate entity and has no operational connection to JSM Corporation.
What’s Next?
For now, the future of Hard Rock Cafe in India remains uncertain. Whether the brand returns with new partners or pulls back from the market entirely is yet to be seen.
But if these closures move forward, several Indian cities may soon lose a familiar stage where burgers, classic rock, and late-night gigs once shared the spotlight.
