Eminem’s The Death of Slim Shady just smashed Spotify’s 2024 record with 63 million first-day streams, officially becoming his biggest streaming debut yet.
Eminem breaks a new record, solidifying his status as the Rap God. The Detroit native’s latest album, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)“, released on July 12, has become Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day for 2024. The album debuted with 63 million streams on its first day, surpassing Future and Metro Boomin’s “We Don’t Trust You“, which had 59 million streams when it launched in April.

“The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)” marks Eminem’s largest streaming debut to date. This conceptual project is his 12th studio album released under Aftermath/Shady/Interscope. A few days before its release, Eminem tweeted to his fans, advising them to listen to the album in sequence.
“Public service announcement: the “death of slim shady” is a conceptual album, therefore, if you listen to songs out of order they might not make sense. Enjoy,” he wrote.
50 Cent’s Two Cents
Eminem’s “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)” has also received acclamation from fellow rappers. 50 Cent took to Instagram to sing praises of the album. “😆Yo @eminem s–t is crazy,” the “In Da Club” rapper wrote, sharing a clip of Eminem’s track “Evil.” “It takes me a while to understand the details of this one. 🔥,” he posted.
On the track, positioned fifth on his latest album’s playlist, the musician from Detroit sings: “I’m so evil/ Rotten to the core, a f–kin’ twisted cerebral/ I’m so evil, so evil/ It’s obvious that I am not like other people.”
It’s one of 19 tracks on The Death of Slim Shady, marking Eminem’s return after a four-year gap since his last album, 2020’s Music to Be Murdered By, which topped the Billboard 200 chart. The new project includes the lead single “Houdini,” released in May along with a superhero-themed music video featuring 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Pete Davidson, and other famous friends of the “Not Afraid” artist.
