BTS has announced a globe-spanning, 79-date world tour, marking their return to the stage after a four-year hiatus
The band will play shows in cities including London, Tokyo, Munich, Sydney, and Los Angeles. Moreover, BTS will tour outside the US and South Korea for the first time since 2019.
Their last tour set records for a K-pop act and earned about $246m (£182m) at the global box office. Along the way, BTS became the first Korean act to headline Wembley Stadium.
This new tour will begin with three nights at South Korea’s Goyang Stadium on 9 April 2026, then move across Asia, Europe, and the Americas. The production will use a 360-degree, in-the-round stage, which should increase available seating at each venue. In addition, BTS will play two nights in London at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 6 and 7 July, while the European run will also include Paris, Madrid, Brussels, and Munich. The band’s website said it will add more dates in Japan, the Middle East, and more for 2027.
Fans can access tickets from 22 January, and the general public can buy them two days later. Billboard reported that BTS and their label BigHit/Hybe could make more than $1bn (£740m) from concerts, merchandise, licensing, album sales, and streaming. During BTS’s hiatus in 2024, Hybe’s operating profit fell by almost 37.5%, and the company partly blamed “BTS’ temporary break”.
New material incoming from camp K-pop, courtesy BTS
Formed in the early 2010s, BTS helped push K-pop into Western mainstream audiences with dance pop, hip-hop, and introspective lyrics. Excitement rose after Suga finished his 18-month mandatory military service last June, following Jin, J-Hope, V, RM, Jung Kook, and Jimin. When BTS confirmed comeback plans on Weverse last July, more than seven million people watched.
The band will release a new, untitled album on 20 March. They recorded it in Los Angeles over six months last year. After the group revealed the release date on New Year’s Day, Weverse crashed under demand. RM said the band has been filming and practising daily, while J-Hope told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe that their solo projects will shape the new music. BTS also sent handwritten letters to ARMY, with messages from Jimin, RM, Jung Kook, and V ahead of the announcement.
