Barry Muir – She’s a Little Wildflower | Classic Beats

Barry Muir, a Canadian singer-songwriter and musician is known for his classic rock anthems that fill you with vigour and enrich you with hope. She’s a Little Wildflower is a gorgeous new track of his that does the same but with even more intensity. Let’s delve into why it makes for a good song.

She’s a Little Wildflower is a crisp, soul-touching song that has so much to offer. The musical aspects of the track are already so on point, but the natural zeal in Barry Muir’s vocals make this track worth visiting again and again. You would know what the song is capable of when you actually listen to it, but for me, it made me soft in the most unpredictable manner.

The lines that make the song seem like a hymn of appreciation for a girl, stir you so intensely. The lines are so tender that it appears it has been sung for you and you are the subject. For me, it definitely gave a boost to my self-esteem.

She’s a Little Wildflower is a gorgeous number with intense, crisp instrumentality as an important element of it. Excellent work on the electric guitar easily manages to uplift your spirits. On the other hand, soothing vocals add a bit more to the fineness of the track.

The song is a must add to your self-love playlist, and definitely to your rock and upbeat playlists too!

Let’s know what Barry Muir has to say about the track:

  1. What inspired you to create “She’s A Little Wildflower”?

Going way back, I had a very pretty girlfriend. She was a little goth, a little Hollywood, even a little country, always smiling, upbeat and loving. We really had a great time together. She popped in and out of my life for years. I knew after a short time there was no settling down with her, so I eventually accepted the relationship for what it was and to this day we’re still good friends. I called her my little wildflower then and it just stuck.

  • The heavy rock undertones of the track made me wonder who your favorite rock musician is?

If I had to pick one favorite musician it would have to be Mick Ronson from David Bowie’s Spiders From Mars. As a young teenager, hearing the guitar riffs in Suffragette City and Rebel Rebel changed my life for good. Mick produced the Payola$, a band I played in in the 80’s so I got to know him quite well. He had just finished producing Jack and Diane for John Mellencamp before he came to Vancouver and produced us. The last time I saw him was when we played the Ritz in New York, Mick and his wife came out to see us play.

  • Is the song a personal one? Is it anyone specially addressed or dedicated to?

The girl who Wildflower is about knows. The problem is, I have three different ex’s all claiming the song is about them. I’m far from perfect.

  • Tell us three to four words that perfectly define your music.

Relationships gone awry

  • Lastly, how long did it take you to write this song and what is next for Barry Muir?

She’s A Little Wildflower is an idea for a song I had floating around in my head for a while. It started to take shape after I brought it to two gals I write with on a regular basis, Joanne Stacey and Lucy LeBlanc. They both know me well so it’s easy for them to pick up on my vibes. Joanne is great at filling in the story and Lucy always comes up with the perfect one liner to tie it altogether. We really wanted to make the chorus jump out and I even came up with a little stop just before the chorus begins to really give it some umph. So it’s really hard to say exactly how long the whole process is. But typically songs come to me very quickly, no more than a few hours for the actual writing process.

I’ve been rehearsing the songs in my living room where I have a full PA system set up dying to get out there and play them either alone, or with a small three piece band. I’m certain I’ll be touring in some capacity by the summer months.
