Sombertrap-The Distance (between Before and After)

Sombertrap-The Distance (between Before and After)

As you look over the cliff towards the distance, a familiar sound begins to ring. This is the sound of Sombertrap. It is waving in melodies within bouts of deep thought and bliss, maybe glee, and even sadness. Everything that can be captured within the spectrum of life can be felt, at the same time. This is their latest single, The Distance (between Before and After).

Where this sound imitates a clock, you’ll recognize. The core melody remains the same, imitating the ticking of a wall clock. The intricacies lie in the deviations, creating waveforms that alternate from the centred song. There is a level of excitement and mostly intrigue, to do with the song and the moment that has been explained so well. As we sit in rumination, it grows and blossoms, creating this garden of sound. It is these synapse breaks, these moments between moments, that this song represents for me. It is soothing, well crafted yet devilishly simple.

The execution is a link from different tracks, all instrumentals that methodically dismantle events we witness dramatically. It is the non-verbal nature of the songs having this kind of detail and feel that make it so appealing. Listen to other tracks by Sombertrap as well, especially Portrait of a Downward Spiral. For now, enjoy The Distance here:
