At the Sick New World Festival on Saturday 27th April, fans witnessed more than just System of a Down’s electrifying performance. Serj Tankian, the band’s frontman, introduced something special: his very own coffee blend, KAVAT Coffee.

Serj Tankian, known for his vocal prowess and activism, unveiled Kavat, stylized as ‘ԳAVAT Coffee’ as a collaboration with his friend Ara. The coffee, inspired by Armenian tradition, blends modern flavors with cultural roots, promising a unique experience for enthusiasts.

Named after the Armenian word for “cup,” ԳAVAT Coffee brings socially conscious, sustainably sourced, and premium organic beans from Ethiopia, roasted using state-of-the-art techniques.

Tankian’s venture into the coffee world stems from his passion for the beverage, evident in his multiple cups a day habit. The culmination of a year-long process, KAVAT Coffee represents Tankian and Ara’s quest for the perfect Armenian brew, a blend of tradition and innovation.

While Tankian’s touring with System of a Down remains limited due to health reasons and personal choices, his appearance at Sick New World held significance. The festival offered fans a rare chance to savor both Tankian’s musical and entrepreneurial talents, with the band delivering a hits-filled set alongside unveiling his coffee brand.
