Musical legend Neil Young is all set to release a new set of his Archives series this September 6th. With a focus on his journey from 1976 to 1987, this album, christened “Archives Vol. III”, is replete with music recordings, film, as well as a host of content claimed to have “never been seen or heard before”.
“Archives Vol. III” will be a limited-edition box set, coming with 22 discs, made of 17 CDs and 5 Blu-Ray discs. Dubbed one of the “most extensive anthologies” in his recorded history, there are 198 tracks total with 121 unreleased versions of his songs, live and studio recording material, and so much more.
The new set follows 2020’s Archives Vol. II. The Blu-Rays will come with 14 hours of film content over 11 different pieces, encompassing 128 tracks. If that’s not got you jaw-dropped, that’s not all! Neil Young is also releasing a separate 17-CD limited-edition Archives Vol. III box set, as well as a double vinyl LP, Takes, which has 16 tracks, featuring one song from 16 of the 17 CDs.
