Miley Cyrus Returns to Her Disney Roots With ‘Backyard Sessions’ in Celebration of Her Latest Album – Endless Summer Vacation

Miley Cyrus released her new album, ‘Endless Summer Vacation‘ on Friday (March 10) via RCA Records. The studio album was preceded by its lead single “Flowers” which became a worldwide sensation upon its release in January and unquestionably one of the greatest successes of Cyrus’ career. It topped the Billboard Hot 100 and both Billboard Global charts for six consecutive weeks.

The pop artist had hinted previously that Endless Summer Vacation would have two halves, AM and PM, which serve as different performances. In a clip posted on her official Instagram feed, she explained, “The AM to me is representing the morning time where there’s a buzz and an energy, and there’s a potential of new possibilities — it’s a new day. And in the nighttime, it feels that there’s a slinky seediness and kind of a grime, but a glamor at the same time…And L.A., there’s a certain energy to the night, that you can kind of feel trouble boil up to the surface, and it’s very inspiring to me.”

Endless Summer Vacation is a star-studded effort

Miley Cyrus is celebrating the release of her new LP, by singing the lead single, “Flowers,” and a few other songs in a new 42-minute special. Now available on Disney+, the musical performance is titled Miley Cyrus: Endless Summer Vacation (Backyard Sessions) and, in the words of the streamer, “provides insight into her new album and the person she is today.”

The singer’s eighth studio LP features contributions from Harmony Korine, Brandi Carlile, Sia, Tobias Jesso Jr., Rob Moose, James Blake, Mike Will Made-It, Greg Kurstin, BJ Burton, Bibi Bourelly, and more. Cyrus has also shared a new video for “River” from the album.

After the release of her most recent album, Plastic Hearts in 2020, Miley Cyrus has maintained her love of cover songs, singing “Heaven or Las Vegas” by the Cocteau Twins.  On the album The Metallica Blacklist, she also covered the band’s “Nothing Else Matters.” Additionally, on an Elon Musk-hosted Mother’s Day episode of Saturday Night Live in 2021, Miley Cyrus sang “Plastic Hearts” and “Without You” for her fans.
