Matthew Cobis, better known as MDK FLA, recently made the decision to start recording music. His talent and his incredibly broad range of inspirations are what you hear. You’ll be horrified to learn that he only started making music one year ago, in 2021, when he was 42 years old. It’s truly amazing that someone can come into music so late in life and create something so special. Cobis is a true talent, and we can’t wait to hear more from him in the future.
MDK FLA’s latest album, “Elixir,” is a stunning collection of electronic tracks that are sure to heal and astonish the listener. The album’s title track is a beautiful, ethereal tune that sets the tone for the rest of the album. Each successive track is more amazing than the last.
The first song on the album is “You Better Run.” We have all been there. The end of a long day, stuck in traffic, or maybe just feeling a little down. All we want to do is put on our favorite song and dance our worries away. And that is exactly what we get from “You Better Run.” This track is the perfect pick-me-up, with its catchy beat. Even though the song is relatively short, it packs a real punch. This is a perfect example of how the blues can be both catchy and relaxing at the same time.
“Sell Out” is an instant classic. The mix of genres is perfect, and the overall production is top-notch. “Sell Out” is a track that will inspire you to reach for the stars. It’s a perfect example of art imitating life – the artist has put their heart and soul into this masterpiece, and it shows. This is a must-listen for anyone looking for an uplifting, motivating track.
“Resonate” is a beautifully crafted song that is sure to please any music lover. The song and its ability to build and create tension without becoming overwhelming is astounding. This final track on the album gives you vibes of Arabian Nights and is a beautifully spiritual conclusion to an already incredible journey. I felt like I had been given a glimpse into a world that I otherwise would never have known existed.
Elixir is an amazing work of art that takes listeners on a variety of different journeys. The album is incredibly versatile, with songs that range from upbeat and fun to more mellow and reflective. MDK FLA has outdone himself here and there is no doubt he is going to shine!
