Marottes- Languish | Phenomenal

Mike Mytnick, the producer and video director behind Marottes, has a unique take on making music. With roots in Cleveland, OH, Marottes blends a self-discovered eclectic sound with visual artwork to create an enchanting dreamscape. Morottes’ goal is to inject some magic into life’s quandaries and, through music and videos, help others do the same. His videos are characterized by their uniqueness, creativity, and artistry, and have received acclaim from both critics and audiences worldwide. It’s no wonder that one of his works “Languishing” has been nominated for both the Global Music Awards and the New York Movie Awards in 2022.

Marottes has come up with a new album, “Languish” made of 6 songs. Few things do the trick like a synthesizer when creating an atmosphere of unease and foreboding. The electronic sound of a synth can add a sense of urgency and paranoia to any track, and “See Mee” is a perfect example of this. The song starts with a strangely catchy synth line, setting the tone for the rest of the track. The synth is complemented by a throbbing bassline and distinctive production, creating a danceable and hypnotizing track. The vocals on “See Mee” are trippy and engaging, adding to the song’s overall atmosphere. It’s a track that is sure to get your heart racing and your mind racing, and it’s one worth checking out.

The song “Empath” is one of the most hauntingly beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard. The opening chords are particularly somber and majestic, setting the tone for the rest of the song. The musical arrangements just left me speechless! The music is haunting and ethereal, with a real sense of tension and drama. It’s the perfect soundtrack for a psychological thriller.

“Flip Cups” is a track that will transport you to a world that is both unsettling and mysterious. The simple synths at the beginning of the track gradually build into a more intense and eerie soundscape, punctuated by weird vocals and amazing sound effects.

“Hanging” is a song that feels personal and intimate. The vocals are spoken over pleasing, atmospheric layers, creating a feeling of intimacy and wonder. The clean, synth-driven production gives the song a feeling of space and grandeur, while the expressive vocal performance ensures that we are constantly engaged and invested in the track. The way it intensifies halfway along took me by surprise and made me smile. After a few eerie, dark tracks on the album, “Hanging” is a breath of fresh air – a welcomed moment of light and beauty.

“Be My Moon” is one of the most interesting tracks on the album. The thumping bassline, endearing vocals, and stunning synths all work together to create a feeling of otherworldly mystery. There’s also a sense of trippiness to the song that, if you listen to it with your eyes closed and wearing headphones, will transport you to a place you may never want to leave.

From the very first note, “Languishing” instantly draws you in. The repeating lines and same musical pattern for over a minute create a sense of lull and hypnosis that is absolutely spellbinding. And as the musical layers are gradually added, the song only becomes more and more captivating. But when the bassline and musical effects are introduced, “Languishing” really comes alive. The sudden injection of energy is exhilarating, and the out-of-this-world sound is truly unforgettable. Whether you’re a seasoned headphone junkie or a music novice, I guarantee that “Languishing” will be an experience you won’t soon forget.

It’s impossible to overstate how good “Languish” is. Every aspect of the album is stellar. What’s even more impressive is how well each song holds up on repeat listens. There are so many little details in the production that you only notice after you’ve heard the songs a few times. Each time you listen, you pick up on something new. I would recommend listening to the full album while wearing headphones. That way, you can really appreciate all the subtle nuances and subtleties that make this album so special. So, next time you’re looking for something to sink your teeth into, be sure to give “Languish” a spin. You won’t be disappointed.
