Robbie Rapids – Jasmine Girl | Classic

Robbie Rapids is an ardent singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is now based in the greatest city for the music scene, Atlanta, and making music that can be described as jangly power pop rock for the fans of 70s – 80s rock. Robbie is a creative lyric writer, working alongside David Levene, an accomplished session musician, and producer. Robbie has diverse and unique musicianship, inspired by some of the greatest like Tom Petty, Oasis, Stone Temple Pilots, and many more.

Robbie Rapids debuted with his single called “Who Shot Them Down” which in fact I have reviewed and praised a lot. After that, he released several singles and has released one recently called “Jasmine Girl”. It is a classic rock/folk style song with a little touch of Robbie’s magic.

Talking about the song and its ingredients in detail. The song starts with a short riff on electric guitar panned on both sides followed by changing chords on a guitar and a soft drum beat. The tremolo effect on the guitar and hints of steel string gives the song a classy country vibe. Soon soothing vocals of Robbie kick in with the drums in a soft feel. With an amazing melody that follows chords, “Jasmine Girl” has a melodic feel. The song has a lot of rhythm guitars that fill in a major part of the background music, in addition to that the drums are basic and simple.

Robbie Rapids has done a phenomenal job on “Jasmine Girl”, the simplicity of the track is what defines him. It is a wonderful track with a slightly new approach by Robbie and you should listen to it once.
