I’ve Tried Sleeping –  Out Here On Our Own | Funky n Rocking

I’ve Tried Sleeping presents us with a dazzling new single Out Here On Our Own from his upcoming self titled debut album. Alternative rock musician Charlie Edwards teaming up with some tight musicians fronts the project I’ve Tried Sleeping.

Charlie Edwards had his early childhood steeped in classical piano and violin. But the spirit of rock music , especially Bob Dylan, took him on the path of the devil’s music. He is influenced by artists like R.E.M, progressive legend Peter Gabriel, funk lord James Brown, Paul Simon, Stone Temple Pilots’ Scott Weiland, and Bruce Springsteen. With such a spectrum of musical roots, I’ve Tried Sleeping manages to create something unique with his own hallmark and signature sound.

The song has a catchy and funky guitar riff in its intro with shiny bright mids. The guitar playing on the verses is phrased locking into the groove with swag and perfection. In the pocket! What was a funky rock song, switches its mood halfway through the song. With phasers and lush soundscapes along a steady drum beat, it takes you down a trippy aura.

The tight drumming by drummer AJ Ramirez is in the groove and pocket. Out Here On Our Own is the fourth track from the album. Charlie’s vocals are gritty and full of emotion and energy. They convey the charisma and power that the song exudes. The record has been produced by Michael Schettler from Spokane Recording Studio, Washington. Lead guitarist, recording & mixing engineer Jay Condiotti has some stunning playing on this song. The band also consists of Eddie Ramirez on bass and Kelly Porter on organ and synths, who lay the foundations for the song.

With Out Here On Our Own, I’ve Tried Sleeping will get you grooving and rocking to no end!
