Bridget Kelly Quinn – Please Stay

Bridget Kelly Quinn is a singer-songwriter from the Highlands who is currently living in Edinburgh. She has been and performed with numerous bands throughout the years before she found her love for jazz singing. She collaborated with David Lennon and Becca Starr to release her debut album ‘Dead Flowers’ last year. Please Stay by Bridget Kelly Quinn is the artist’s latest single sporting raw vocals and freshness of acoustic guitar.

The song begins with a simple guitar melody that flourishes with the unique texture of the artist’s vocals. The guitar weaves beautiful melody trajectories throughout the song and patiently follows the whimsy of the artist’s vocal tangents.

Reminiscent of Janis Joplin, the artist’s vocal timbre is one of a kind and carries an unparalleled emotional depth. Its piercing quality pervades and percolates into the fabric of the song without intruding into the charm of the acoustic guitar. Influenced by her time in the Nouvelle Jukebox, the artist incorporates subtle jazz singing into the song.

We see vocal improvisations in the bridge that tears through the song and births a wonderful softness that adds to the theme of the song. The flighty vocals are anchored by the refreshing depth of the artist’s style and inimitable emotional orientation. It coats the song with a remarkable sheen that glistens with a mercurial shine.

Inspired by vocals geniuses like Janis Joplin, Sam Cooke, Nina Simone and Jeff Buckley, Quinn orients her vocal style and charm with novel and original textures to beautifully articulate song themes.

Available on Spotify, YouTube Music, Gaana and Wynk.
