Becca Starr is a Scotland based alternative hip-hop artist who produces and writes her own tracks giving her music her primal touch. Her tracks are innovatively captivating which surely leaves a mark on your mind. Her discography is a rich collection of 3 singles, a remix and an entire full length album called ‘Speak No Evil’.
Her album ‘Speak No Evil’ which I recently is a masterpiece that will blow your mind. The album brings something new to the table making this album a true piece of art. This is one of those albums that I could deeply relate to making me one of the biggest fan of Becca Starr. Her lyrics throughout the album are deeply touching which caught my attention at first. Her deep sense of musicality got me hooked for days on the album. The album is full of surprises. This is certainly one of the best albums I have come across this year.
‘Intro(Warm Up)’ is the first track of the album and it is where it all starts taking shape. The first track of the album gives direction to the album and paves the path that the album will lead. The way Becca Starr describes her deep emotions in words is breath-taking.
The first two tracks after the intro are ‘I Forgot’ and ‘Tides’ which are a perfect pair to start off the album. Both the tracks are musically strong and innovative. The music is deep and just the right amount of innovation that will please your ears to get ready for what is about to come. The way Becca experiments with her music is impressive. Her lyrics in both these tracks go deep into the skin making her music irresistible.
The next three tracks are ‘Fear Of Death’, ‘I’m Still Breathing’ and ‘ITSDARKUPTHERE’ which are the spotlight tracks of the albums and are true gems according to me. Each of these tracks are packed with intense melodies that clutches the soul. The flows in these tracks are innovative. The way Becca Starr uses her voices to deliver power through her lyrics is remarkable. All these three tracks are the once that shows off her elite musical and lyrical skills. I personally believe that this trio can be a complete EP which would be whole.
‘I’ll Carry You(Bro)’ is the seventh track of the album and the track which features two exquisite artists who I believe gave light to the moon in this track. This track is the point where the album completely took over my heart. The balance between melodies and lyrics is what makes this track special.
The next two tracks are ‘First Step’ and ‘Half Of Me’ are the tracks that beautifully display Becca’s vivid versatility. These tracks are packed with heavy experimentation which makes this pair the cherry on top. These tracks are my most appreciated tracks of the album because both these tracks are exceptionally executed.
The last track of the album is ‘Speak No Evil’ which is the track that powerfully justifies the end of this masterpiece. This track is one of the most powerful track of the album and the album is named after this track. The lyrics are sharp as a razor and cuts several incisions on the listener’s heart.
The album is a masterpiece which smoothly engulfs elite lyricism and exquisite musicality. The album will surely blow your mind and change your perception. Do give this album a listen.
