Sika Valme is a contemporary Creole-Canadian musician and illustrator from Port-au-Prince, currently based between Montreal, New York City, and the tropics of Central America. Her mission is to bring Ambient to the West Indies culture, also to bring that culture to the electro scene which she beautifully executes in her music. Her works are bound to immerse you in an experience beyond reality. Her discography is a perfect example of modern experimentation’s potential. Her exotic vocal abilities casts a charm around the listeners minds delivering an extraterrestrial experience. Her debut track ‘Vini Vini’ was released in 2021 and is one of the best tracks on my playlist.
Sika Valme has recently released her new single, ‘Mango’ which is backed by perfect musicality. Her music seeps deep into the skin touching the depths of one’s consciousness. Her music is enchantingly therapeutic with its exceptional abilities to hold on to the listener’s minds. ‘Mango’ is a perfect example of how modern experimentations can result in such magnificent masterpieces. The song starts off with a mellow melody with some innovative percussions which is a true cherry on the pie. By the time the vocals kick in, the listener is bound to be enchanted by the music itself. The vocals perfectly intertwine with the beat creating a whole different vibe. The lyricism of the artist is remarkable and justifies the music perfectly. The innovative use of folk elements in the music is all a music listener craves for, which is perfectly executed in the track ‘Mango’
