Vanda – MARIO | Peach Gameboy

LA based musician Vanda releases an upbeat catchy and alluring electronic chillpop song with MARIO. MARIO has been stunningly produced by Joel Woods and artists bb blue while the apt mixing is by Josh Woods. The mastering by Dale Becker of Becker Mastering ensures the right final touches on this fiery track. The single artwork features a Gameboy with a modern candyfloss synthwave aesthetic, keeping in with the title and thematic approach. This is her third release this year after the more somber 12 Drinks and With U.

MARIO begins with volume swells to a laid-back beat and reassuring piano licks. Vanda’s vocals enter with some stunning complementary harmonies which give the effect of a mirror maze. The detuning effect in the chorus is a very nice touch making the song unique from others in the genre. In under three minutes, we get to revel in some tasty melodies and elite electronic production with the right doses of the familiar and innovative. Vanda’s songwriting ensures that the song balances accessibility and musicality with compositional tact.

The optimum application of chopping and manipulating the wide array of metallic synths with a warm drum production makes you play the song on repeat. Vanda’s soulful vocals keep you mesmerizing through the song. The arrangement of various elements and the repeat quality of the track is top-notch. The future bass, indietronica with chillwave production of the song reminds one of Odesza. MARIO by Vanda is one stunning chillhop song that creates a dreamy summer vintage vibe.
