The intro with the saxophone was like a grand entrance for a celebrity on the red carpet. I can imagine someone listening to this song the morning after a wild night out, probably at home, in bed. It is because the entire tune is visceral. This song somehow reminded me of Tommy Shelby from Peaky Blinders. The mysterious and intense vibe this song oozes out seems perfect for the series. The song’s ambiguity is one of the things I liked best about it. Throughout the song, you have no idea what kind of tune or instrument will get presented next. I couldn’t help but groove along with the music. Deep and like an illusion, the vocal is a fantastic complement to the overall vibe. ‘Down Down’ has a retro-modern flavor to it. For me, the entire musical composition was the focal point.
