1st Base Runner is a new exciting project of the musician and producer, Tim Husmann. Based in Austin, Texas, Tim is a very established musician. After the break of seven years, Tim released his debut album “Seven Years of Silence” back in 2021. His music perfectly blends trip-hop, Gothic pop, and post-rock to create airy, atmospheric music.

1st Base Runner is making his own world with airy vocals and dark cinematic music. He is releasing new music constantly and has received a good response from his fans. His latest EP called “Light Roars” is just another masterpiece. The EP has 5 songs and a run time of about 18 minutes. It has got the classic ‘1st Base Runner’ vibe.

Let’s Talk about “Light Roars” in detail. The first song in the EP is named “In the Beginning”. The song starts with a terrifying riff on a synth. It has a very spooky sound and feels like a horror movie soundtrack. Soon a narration begins by Tim in a very alien voice. The drums follow with a nice electric guitar riff and bass. The song transforms from a spooky song to a having a beautiful melody. The elements in the song are truly inspired by trip-hop and post-rock music of the 80s and 90s.

Another amazing song in the Ep is “Planter”. The song starts with a riff on keys that build the melody. Soon the airy vocals of Tim kicks in followed by a funky drum beat. The bass guitar is so prominent in all of 1st Base Runner’s songs, it comes out loud and heavy. The song is groovy and has a very unique approach.

“Give Up the End” is yet another classic in the EP. It begins with a very cool maybe a vintage radio announcement effect. It is followed by an amazing riff on the electric guitar. Soon the bass and drums kicks in with the beautiful vocals of Tim. The instrumental part between verses 1 and 2 is so genius and complex. The use of synths and effects is done so appropriately that makes the song a great recommendation for anyone looking for some fresh music.

“1st Base Runner” is an exceptional project by Tim Husmann. His style of making music is just out of this world. He is a master in music production and his songs sound so unique. His new EP “Light Roars” is a must-listen if you are a fan of trip-hop music.
