The Gloom – Requiem (for Joan of Arc) | Master Storyteller

The Gloom is an alternative rock solo project by the Israeli musician Yoav Landau. He is a London based singer/songwriter and guitarist. He describes his music as “alternative dream rock for the masses”. The Gloom’s dreamy and layered music carries a variety of influences like post punk, dark ambient, psychedelia, and gothic rock. His music is a new variation of rock and punk.

Requiem (for Joan of Arc) is the new single by The Gloom. The name of the song may articulate some historical references. The deep meaning of the lyrics showcases the talent of The Gloom. The song has a massive European period touch yet it feels so modern.

Talking about the key ingredients of the song, it starts with a soft, sharp, and long guitar riff which instantly sets the mood. The guitar riff is followed by the amazing vocals of Yoav Landau. There’s something magical about his voice that is so soothing to the human ears. While the gracious melody is the heart and soul of the song, the drums in second half lift the song to another level.

Requiem (for Joan of Arc) is a masterpiece that has so much potential. The amazing songwriting talent of The Gloom AKA Yoav Landau is impeccable. The song is a reminder that good music is still alive in the world. Requiem (for Joan of Arc) is a must-listen for everyone who is a fan of music.
