The vocals are so amazing that you can feel your heart swell with emotion as the pre-chorus starts along the line “But then there you were / Looking like her / I’ve known you for so long but never caught it”. And the chorus? The chorus gets even better, just like how the last sip of coffee stays on your taste buds forever.
The instrumentals are wonderful, creating a sound that is as distinct as it is delightful. The lyrics only add to the ambience, with their slow-burning pace and delightfully clever turns of phrase. It’s a song that’s sure to have you slow-dancing in your head—and maybe even swaying in your seat—as it narrates the narrator’s sweet realization that the girl, he’s been pining for has been right in front of him all along.
