danny beau – golden age | indie-pop

danny beau is a 21-year-old Philadelphia-based indie-pop performer. Inspired by the tension and apprehension of his early twenties, he writes and produces music from the comfort of his bedroom closet. He deftly blends parts of bedroom pop and indie rock to create dreamy music perfect for driving with the windows down and screaming at the top of your lungs. He mentioned Taylor Swift to be one of his biggest musical influences. Having released his debut single in 2021, he’s now back with his newest single, golden age.

Filled with his soft vocals, the melodic strum of the guitar and sing-along lyrics, golden age might just be the quintessential indie-pop song. danny beau seems to have come a long way from his debut and is really making his mark on the indie-pop world with this track. The song is calming and will have you swaying along with it. It has the right amount of bittersweet nostalgia for you to keep coming back to it. With the pandemic and the way the world has changed, I think everyone will find a way to relate to a golden age that danny beau is singing about. He also really pushes the boundaries on the dynamism of his vocals as we experience near the bridge of the song. golden age ends with a heartwarming chorus that urges you to sing along and clap hands and believe for the span of the song that “… down by the bay, things are all okay..” and maybe its what we need!
