Ms. M|CHL – New Heartache | Heartfelt

Oklahama-born, LA-based artist  Ms. M|CHL has been known as a singer from a very young age. She used music to survive through tough situations and started singing in church, choirs and talent shows. The artist also was writing her own songs from time to time, and eventually moved to LA where she started releasing music. Following the release of her 2020 album “Anaxiphilia”, she’s now out with her first single of the year titled, “New Heartache”.

The track begins with a soft acoustic guitar loop that sets the groove for Ms. M|CHL’s heartfelt tune. As the title suggests, she sings about heartache and welcomes it with open arms. “Why are you trying to hide new heartache? / I’d recognize you anywhere / Oh, new heartache, you’re my oldest friend…”. A soft, melodic synth creates a dream-like atmosphere with the guitars right from the start. The artist sticks to her vocal delivery style and the track has a sort of hypnotic feel to it as it progresses.

The song’s rhythm section sounds delightful, owing to the mellow beats and deep bass that accompanies the lead melody. Ms. M|CHL channels her feelings through intricately written lyrics that describe her journey in a relatable and engaging way. “New Heartache” also features a short phone-call recording that fits just right in! The veteran songwriter sure does know how to create a mood. Additionally, about halfway through the song, some beautifully layered harmonies add to the extravagant sound. Ms. M|CHL just might be teasing her fans with a new album that’s in the works, but who knows? With another great addition to her discography, I’m quite eager to hear what she has in store for us next!
