Anastasiya Ihnatovich – Time Lapse | One Character in several stories

Anastasiya Ihnatovich, a neoclassical composer from Minsk, Belarus, has put out a new EP titled “Time Lapse” that includes six of her compositions. Each song has the same title, Time Lapse, yet they express various viewpoints and feelings. Every lapse has its own route and pace, and it’s amazing to see such creativity in presenting identical ideas from six distinct perspectives. I don’t mean distinct sounds or different moods when I say different feeling; we’ll see comparable occasions when various interpretations cross over. So, whether it’s the progression, the descent, or the arpeggios, the work will have one signature phrase that defines its consistency in terms of stating the same theme differentially.

The initial Time Lapse establishes the time for the subsequent iterations. The track gradually picks its speed. The single notes with right hand arpeggios at the beginning set the tone for the record. The notes illustrate the link between consonances and dissonances well. The mood has a narrative that conjures up vivid images in our imaginations. As we get to the following rendition, the track gains a little more tension, gradually bringing in the instability in the same relationship. The harmonic structure alters, and this offers the first indication of her album’s concept. She deftly constructs a new tale using the same characters. As I listened to the record over and again, this thought began to form inside of me.

The third variant deviates slightly from the main theme, yet the composition keeps us in the same area while simultaneously radiating the fragrances of the basic colour palette. The guy in this tale ventures outside of his comfort zone to seek out new experiences. I detect a little of intrigue and uncertainty in the writing, and we are pleasantly surprised with fresh twists and turns that sounded quite intriguing to me. She also did an excellent job with the tempo, which adds a lot of movement to the piece. The fourth version has a lot more silence. It gave me the impression that the character had discovered a new environment to which he was gradually accustoming. By confronting many hurdles and challenges, he is establishing his new inner peace. He has a lot of questions for which he is hoping for a resolution. Such a wonderful atmosphere has a profound effect on you. The performance is so emotive that it will undoubtedly resonate with any listener who appreciates good meaningful music.

As the story unfolds, the man discovers that he is happy and alive in his new environment, where he is also maturing as a character. This seems like the theme has a fresh lease of life. With the passage of time, the character has likewise aged. The composition has a dramatic structure that surely makes you think, and if we listen with entire attention, we are rewarded to some extremely lovely moments that genuinely bring the character’s shadows to life. This is what it means to be a master artist of the craft. As we neared the end, I realised that what she depicted was a whole existence. Each lapse has stages that are so related to our perspective of life. The last piece also depicts the moments that really reflected the end of a human existence. The album is incredible; each piece truly moves you to the core. The reflections of us are so beautifully described in the pace, choice of notes, and harmony selection, that it truly gets the sense of her grasp of her craft and how she very well uses the instrument to tell her narrative. This is an extremely brilliantly written composition that should certainly reach out to the most human life, and I hope they find meaning in it.
