Candy sounds exactly what you expect it to sound like. The fun, funky groove is immediately attractive and puts a hop in your step. Le Fleur’s dynamic vocals get you from the beginning. The vocals have a very characteristically soft. With passionate vocals and gritty, hard-hitting funk grooves, reminiscent of the acid jazz scene of the early ’90s, the sugar of chart-topping 80s pop, and the pure funk of the ’70s.
What I really enjoyed was the bridge of the song that displays sing-along layered harmonies with a drum beat that made me dance along too. The song is very reminiscent in its form and gives you some pastel coloured vibes. Additionally, the instrumentals, especially the percussive and synth elements, really create a combination that sets Le Fleur apart. The song is catchy and new, while it is also nostalgic.
Candy by Le Fleur is the perfect song to add to any of your dance party playlist. An instant mood-changer, Candy fits perfectly into Le Fleur’s discography, and I can’t wait to hear more.
