WANDER – Delilah | Little Sweet Desires

WANDER, alias Nick Oliver Valera, who does not consider himself a singer-songwriter but rather an ordinary music enthusiast, has lately released his love ballad “Delilah“. The music is overall extremely smooth, and it is the composition that propels us through the song. The song expresses his wishes and feelings for his lover. He expresses his circumstance well, in which he is greatly missing the presence of his companion. The feeling is portrayed with such simplicity and purity that the song remains simple and easy to breathe. As a consequence, as the music develops, it will be simple to follow. Furthermore, the vocal melody or delivery does total credit to the words communicated. His innocence and honesty in the performance does connect with you immediately.

The arrangement is kept extremely simple and has a really relaxed feel about it. The song begins by setting the tone with natural rain sounds, which are emphasised more when the song begins to reference a rainy afternoon. The guitar progression is the focal point of the song, with the percussion and bass holding the atmosphere together well. The slight swing in the drum beats helps to break the monotony. Overall, the writing is really clear and well conveys the idea of the song. Furthermore, the arrangements are not overcrowded with several instruments, and the work is given entire trust and room to fly at its own speed, which I am sure many listeners will appreciate.
