Briana Piedra – Daydream | Mesmeric

Briana Piedra, an American singer/songwriter recognised for her joyful voice, has released a new EP called “Daydream.” She taped herself during the quarantine days of 2020, and she sounds incredible. The record has a consistent sound and, more importantly, a tight feel. The lyrics is kept simple yet full of deeper notions, making it easy to absorb and allowing the listener to appreciate the song’s head space. The vocal performances are exceptional. Furthermore, the delicate details in the vocal arrangements distinguish the album and raise anticipation for her future releases.

The sound design of the opening track, “Floating,” immediately draws you into the tune’s immersive ambience. The voices are so tempting that you can’t help but feel the aura. The melodic lines on the guitar are seamlessly integrated into the arrangement. The entire tone is easygoing, and the vocal mood is enticing to keep us engaged throughout. The song sets the standard for the rest of the songs. The second song, “Daydream,” which is also the album’s title track, begins with attractive guitar notes before fluidly transitioning into a big 808 beat that is really breathtaking when it strikes fiercely. We’re still in awe of the vocals. The atmosphere is lovely and tasty enough to keep you hooked. The music is held together by the rhythm. The ad-libs are enticing, and they’re strategically placed throughout the verse. I absolutely kept grooving as I listened to the song over and again.

I’m Sorry” begins with a soothing warm E. piano tune that instantly relaxes you. The songwriting becomes more intense, and it affects you deeply. With this piece, the mood became even more intense. The melodic line has a profound effect on you. You want to stay in trance for as long as possible since the ambiance is so serene and comfortable. We recognise Briana’s potential in her vocal delivery, which considerably improves the overall atmosphere of the song. The next song, “Doing Me Wrong,” amps up the energy even further. The mood is lifted by the Lo Fi chords. Furthermore, the gripping groove drives you to continue forward. The production is incredibly gripping, despite the fact that it is built with very few layers. This allowed the track to breathe, and with the addition of the vocal arrangements, the song stands tall and keeps us interested all the way through.

The album comes to a climax with the killer track “Make You Mine.” The feeling is steady, and the enticing voice and accompanying harmonies truly pull you into the soundscape. This song’s vibe is incredibly appealing. The nasty 808 Kick blends in so well with the percussion that it breaks up the monotony and produces smooth transitions between sections. The record, in my opinion, sounds fundamentally powerful, with excellent vocal performances and truly remarkable ad-libs. The album’s tone emits such a positive aura that it makes you swing. I hope the album reaches a broader audience, and I am confident that the atmosphere will loosen up anybody who listens it.
