When it began, hip-hop was defined by four essential elements. Today, those elements would number in the hundreds, but two ingredients are crucial: lyrical proficiency and production (or instrumentation) that is innovative without being distracting. Sidd has both of those down cold, delivering hard-knocking singles that are writing the genre’s future today.
‘4 tha Clouds’ is hard-core, old-school hip hop that focuses mainly on the lyrics. Sidd has simple and clear vocal delivery that makes the listener relate to him. The beat on this track is nothing short of amazing. The brass along with the beat just plays with your ears while Sidd is screaming into it.
It’s a track about reaching for the clouds and not giving up on the way. Life is all about the hustle and you cant hustle if you don’t have the thirst to reach ‘4 tha Clouds’. The fact that his voice and delivery is so simple, makes you feel like you can do it as well. The delivery is like a conversation and that intimacy builds an emotional connect with his audience. The hook is just amazing with some ping pong gimmickry that makes this track memorable. I really need to give credit to the producer for making this track a masterpiece.
Overall a fantastic single from Sidd, who keeps coming back with better music every release!
