Bailey Tomkinson – Skin | Evocative

Bailey Tomkinson, a singer/songwriter from St Ives, Cornwall, and a member of the ‘Kernowfornia’ music movement, has released a new song called “Skin.” The music has a very fresh vibe to it that gradually grows on you as the song unfolds. The song is about the continual complications in her relationship, which progressively becomes enraged and then gradually settles down. The song’s overall journey is rather intriguing. The track has a thrilling peak and descent, and it finishes on a lovely note. The language are kept basic but detailed, providing enough information about the current scenario. The scenario is intense, but with the arranging method, it is given a positive spin that maintains a friendly equilibrium.

The production includes a superb mix of electronic and acoustic components. The guitars keep the song’s chords flowing, which are emphasised even more by the brilliant use of pads and textures. The synthetic tones are quite pleasant and capable of eliciting an emotional response. The harmonies at the conclusion have a big influence on the line that sums up the entire song. For me, the part and phrase are the most powerful highlights of the song, precisely illustrating why the album is titled “Skin.” Bailey Tomkinson’s vocal delivery is fantastic, and it truly gets under your skin. Overall, the detailed writing will undoubtedly connect with listeners, and the general mood will appeal to the ears.
