Magic Stick from Aneero is an Afrobeat number with Caribbean influences from London-based Ghanaian singer and songwriter. The song is a highlife love song that gets you grooving. Further, it draws from the experiences of the musician growing up in Ghana.
The artist’s career started long before he relocated to the UK. Believe it or not, he released his first few singles while he was still in Ghana. Upon moving to London he soon came to know the CEO of Sons of Destiny (SOD) Records, and was recognised for his musical calibre. This meant he could now work with excellent collaborators and contributors. Alongside these folks who could bring out the best in him, he rediscovered his music through a UK-scope.
As of now, Aneero already has our attention as he delves into a relatively new genre that is fast influencing pop and taking over the internet. Often, it is the early musicians of a genre who define the style for generations to come. Similarly, Aneero could be the genius mind that bends and blends Afro-beat and Creole influences into Hip-Hop for an era to follow. Finally, the song Magic Stick does not hold back on innuendos and even not-so-subtle references. Combined with the Pidgin English in the song it comes off way classier than many contemporary RnB artists are able to produce.
