Micah Thunder – Take Your Shot | larger than life

His fifth single of the year, Micah Thunder, is giving you the most uplifting indie vibes with Take Your Shot. The New Mexico based singer-songwriter has been pouring his heart and soul into his music, and it really shows. The single opens up with a combination of guitars and synths that segue into Thunder’s dreamy vocals.

The primary melody is played by a synthesizer that sounds like a horn section, with electric guitars providing chords and counter melodies. The song’s complexity is enhanced by the song’s sweeping and wide drum section. The vocals in the track are honest and are Micah Thunder displays his dynamic range throughout it. He has an interesting cadence that he delivers in these sections of the songs, which when you immerse yourself into make you feel larger than life. Take Your Shot also gives you 2000s nostalgia, crafted into subtle and succinct melodies. Micah’s music reminds me of bands like Yellowcard, Simple Plan and Bowling for Soup.

Take Your Shot is your quintessential uplifting, pop-rock song that will have you jumping around and singing to it. “Give your faith in healing, I see you believing. He sings, “You’re going to go far, You’re going to strike that mark.” The final line finishes, “You better trust me, You’re already there.” Micah has incorporated these little encouraging gems into his music, and it’s definitely a song to look forward to.
