Out with their first single of 2021, BE is back with the most immaculate melancholic vibe. With a heavy, epiphany driving choral arrangement combined with bold, seductive vocals, this single is really pushing their discography to a new level. The electronic duo, came together after a strong friendship, blossomed into a musical relationship. With a shared history of long term activity in the local music scene and a diverse range of influences acquired along the way, we came together to create something unique to them.
The track features progressive keys that build up across the duration of the song. The vocals on this track are very remarkable. They have a deep, sonorous tonality to them and draw you to the song. It’s one of the same reasons people are drawn to voices like those of Adele and Amy Winehouse. The music and the instrumentals of the song have hints of electronica and really add volume to the song itself. What BE does really well is create succinct soundscapes that are melancholic but also uplifting.
If You is a song that I would listen to while focusing, on a long drive or when I needed to unwind. I wouldn’t be surprised if BE found itself into my sad boi hours playlist. BE is definitely worth listening to and I can’t wait for more well thought out, feeling pieces from them.
