Martin Smith – Fire In Your Eyes | Energizer

For the past three decades, Martin Smith, a worship performer, songwriter, and producer from the United Kingdom, has been writing songs that breathe new life into lives. Smith’s songs have inspired and influenced worship leaders and worshippers alike, from “Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble?” and “Waiting Here For You” to “I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever” and “History Maker.” Following a brief sabbatical, Martin released Dancing in the Fire, the first song off his forthcoming studio album, earlier this year. Trouble, a collaboration between Martin and The Kingdom Choir, followed closely behind. The newest single, Fire In Your Eyes, comes in advance of his album’s release next year.

Fire seems to be an ongoing theme that has been driving Smith with his music lately, and we are all here for it! Fire in Your Eyes, is an anthem. A powerful and soaring anthem that takes the listener’s attention right away. The song is progressive and leaves everything it wants you to feel on the table. The chorus grows and builds until it reaches a climax of ecstatic and passionate acclaim. When Martin sings this chorus, he really lets go and leaves nothing on the table, and it encourages you to do them.

With all the music I’ve been listening to lately, Fire In Your Eyes, comes as a breath of fresh air and dare I say – a renewing wave of fire that enriches and encourages you. In his press release, Martin Smith asks us to, “Please do me a favour. Find somewhere where you can turn this up REALLY loud and jump, dance, scream and let go of the fear that has gripped us.”  And that is exactly what I suggest you do while listening to this single. I don’t think the genre of Gospel Rock or Worship music should limit the experience that this single has to give you.
