Saphira – 1000 Colors Sky | Vibrant

Saphira has released a new track called “1000 Colors Sky”, which is truly stunning from beginning to end. Saphira is a London-based singer-songwriter with roots in the south of France and Lithuania. The song’s vitality is pushed forward by the song’s pulse. The lyrics has inspired us to create such unique visuals, which have been further enhanced by the production components. Every new element adds to the experience’s enticing charm. The vocal delivery is excellent, and it merges in seamlessly with the song’s tonality. The psychedelic patterns never emerge and do not get in the way of the primary voice. Throughout, the energy is steady.

The song is essentially an electronic well-produced record in terms of arrangement. The synth pulsing bass-lines reverberate throughout the song. The tone of the rhythm patterns is robust and firmly emphasises the proper beats. The transitions are smooth and unobtrusive as they go from one section to the next. Something that drew my attention was the creative vocal processing. There is a lot of intriguing intricacy throughout the song that successfully breaks up the monotony and keeps us engaged and fascinated until the very end.

We also have an interview with Saphira, who offers additional details about the process and her experiences from the song’s creation.

1. How did you come up with the idea for “1000 Colors Sky”? What may the song’s genesis be?

“I was witnessing rainbows in the most peculiar places, and wanted to make a “happy love song” for once. This song is not entirely happy, but I wanted it to feel like a trip to the most colorful heavens. I also inspired by a painting of me. Behind my silhouette you can see loads of colors. I thought that’s how it feels to fall in love. Like tripping into a colorful state of mind.”

2. The soundscapes are interesting, and the powerful throbbing synth tone gets to to the heart of things. How did you manage to incorporate such vital and texturally rich elements?

“This you’ll have to ask Paul Stanborough! The unbelievably talented producer I work with! I come to the studio with a demo, with a few instrumental layers, chords, lyrics and melodies, and with a movie in mind. Paul takes the movie out of its packaging and displays it in cinema.
I said “I want the music to sound like an ascension to heaven, flying, passing by, among angels, and feel all of color!”.
We were listening a lot to Daft Punk while making this track, love the simplicity and happiness you get from “Lose Yourself To Dance”. Freaking anthem. Have to play it now I’ve mentioned it…”

3. What was the most challenging section of the song, or what was the most enjoyable moment that might be described as a delightful experience?

“I think the M8 is pretty fun! I had recorded the vocals prior for the demo, where I was singing kind of bluntly and Paul just loved it. I wanted it to be more elegant or soft but he insisted in keeping it the way it was initially which just made me laugh. Nothing is that serious.”

4. Is there anything special you’d like to communicate or emphasise with the song?

“I think I wrote this song to convince me that even in the most tragic experiences of love, there is or was that moment where you felt all the blessings of it. There is always something that changed you, uplifted you. Something to be grateful for. It’s an ode to that feeling of being reborn. Transitioning from monochrome to technicolor.”

5. What are your sources of inspiration? What musicians and bands have had the most influence on you?

“I love Björk, Gaga, Florence & The Machine, Lana, Oh Land. These women have a great deal in influencing me. But to be fair, each song I work on has different aesthetics, soundscapes, and artists to get inspired from. And as I mentioned Daft Punk were the main inspiration as also The Dø for this one.”

6. What might fans anticipate from your next releases?

“More color and chaos – merging dreams. I have 8 songs to record, all works in progress to complete the album. Next one is called ‘Art Monster’. Can’t wait to get to the studio again to make it happen! It is truly one of my favourite things in the world! Get all the images you have in mind into a perfectly shaped 3 to 5mins song!”
